Kindly desist from tagging your questions onto other members topics. It is considered rude and unfair to the OP and it creates confusion when members respond. When a members is online who can answer your questions, I am sure someone will. Pls be patient, we offer advice for free and it is weekend when most will be spending time with their families.Ali2006 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 20, 2018 10:54 pmHi CR001,
I haven't heard from anyone all day but I saw this thread is getting response. So I jumped in..can you please help with my query?
I am currently switching my Tier 4 visa to a Tier 2 (General) Visa. However, I have made a mistake on my application, where I have selected my job as one of the job listed in the shortage occupation list, which actually my job and CoS is not. This resulted of me paying 446 GBP instead of 677GBP. I have done the biometric and sent out the documents as well on 17th January.
Now I'm stressing out all day cause my home lawyers and solicitors are suggesting that just write a cover letter saying there was an error and you have attached a cheque of the difference balance i.e. £231 and get a supporting letter from sponsor to add it and just post it. However, my sponsor is suggesting because I still have time before my Tier 4 expires, so just to lodge a new application without cancelling the 1st one. And then send out a cover letter with it saying because of the error you have made in the first application, a new application is done and this is in variation to 1st application and all my documents including passport is sent already with the 1st application and add the reference number for that.
Now I am worried which is the best option? And should I lodge a new application with a new CoS or not (sponsor is ready to provide a new CoS for it)? Or just not do anything and just send a cover letter with a cheque? This is really stressful and I'm really lost. I have only until Monday 22nd January to decide after that my tier 4 will also expire and I cannot lodge a new application anyway. Will lodging a new application complicate things?
Please can you guide on this matter?
Thanks
