Hey there,

I am offered a job in UK as a software engineer fresh out of college. However I am not sure if I qualify for the shortage jobs points. According to official list software developer is listed but there is also an experience requirement makes me confused. I have 0 years of full-time experience. Could you please explain if I qualify for shortage? Thank you so much!

You won' qualify for shortage occupation if you do not have experience or the job is not in the very specific sector mentioned in the HO piece you quoted and the specific job titles metioned.

Hi there,

As you know visa cap has been hit for consecutive months. According to some resources minimum salary was 50K for the last month. Is this the real hard threshold or could be lower or higher? My current offer is a only few thousand less. I am under 25 and will be graduating this early summer and not holder of tier 4 currently. Am I under the new hire rules for this visa and would my typical salary threshold be lower? Are these salaries expected to be lower in upcoming months?

My salary is only a few thousand less than this month's 50K limit and I was wondering if the 50K gross salary requirement for April 2018 is different for the ones under new entrant term? Would I get the points for 47K? Could you please explain?
