Spouse Visa Application - Minimum requirement salaried employment - HELP!

Post by MiniCheddar2018 » Wed Jun 06, 2018 12:00 pm

Hey everyone!

Hoping for someone to shed some light onto my queries about this 'minimum requirements threshold - salaried employment' jargon!

I am currently in salaried employment, my annual salary is £20,000 per year.

My average take home pay each month after deductions (Tax, national insurance, pension and healthcare) is £1388.

I am slightly confused as £1388 x 12 = £16,656 net pay. Yet my contract states my salary is £20,000 per year.

Which figure should I be going by? I mean, do I meet the minimum threshold?

Slightly confused!

Thank you!

It is your GROSS pay before deductions.

Hello,

You have mentioned
My average take home pay each month after deductions (Tax, national insurance, pension and healthcare) is £1388.
You should be looking at gross pay (i.e. BEFORE deductions of Tax, national insurance, pension and healthcare ) for the vis purposes, not NET pay!

This will add up to 20K (hopefully)

Hi

Thanks for the replies!

I have a payslip in front of me, my basic pay is £1679. Then tax, NI, pension and healthcare is deducted, the amount is £1388.

So I should be going from the basic pay of £1679 NOT the £1388 after deductions?

Thank you for your help!

Spouse Visa help!

Post by MiniCheddar2018 » Tue Sep 11, 2018 5:05 pm

Hello,

Me and my partner are applying for a spouse visa at the end of October. The form we are currently filling out is a VAF4A form.

I started my new job on 12th March and my probation ends 12th December (yes 9 month probation!)

I am on a permanent contract and earning £20,000 (over the threshold)

Does the fact I'm still in my probation when I apply become a problem?

Rather worried!!!

What happens if you lose your job after a spouse visa has been accepted based on your current salary?
Just for information purposes!
