Tier 2 ICT visa duration of stay

Hi,

I am on a Tier 2 ICT visa in UK. My visa was stamped in Feb 2014. However I had travelled only for 3 weeks that time (i.e. my payroll was not transferred and residency status not changed)
Later, I travelled to UK in Oct 2015 and have been a resident of UK since.

My question was, that from which date does the 5 year resident calculation start. Is it from the day the visa was stamped, or is it from the day an individual starts being a resident of UK. The home office website does not have any clear distinction between the 2 so I am confused.

Any pointers would really help.
