Fiancee Visa help

Post by Kmontgo59 » Tue Jun 12, 2018 2:22 pm

Hello,

My partner (UK citizen) and I(US citizen) are currently living in Japan but we want to move back to the UK together to get married. I started my visa application online but we dont seem to meet the financial requirement. We have a combined annual income of over 18600 pounds but my fiancee is having trouble getting a job because no one seems to want to hire from overseas and we cant give a predicted date for him to be back in the Uk. We're going to return once I get the visa.

So I was looking at the 10 year settlement but there are apparently no exact rules. So I have absolutely no idea how to take the 10 year route. Should I write a letter? What should it say? The reason we want to leave Japan is because the only thing we can do is teach English and it pays badly. I also have nowhere I could go if I moved back to the US.

Thanks in advanced!

I don't think you can apply flrfp 10 years route from outside uk due to not meeting financial requirement which is possible from inside uk. Quickest way can be though 6 months old savings of at least £62500.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

But everything I've read says I can only apply for a fiance visa from outside the UK. How could I apply for the visa from the UK? Can I apply while on a regular tourist visa?

FLR(FP) 10 year route is NOT a fiance visa either and is an application you make within the UK. There are extremely limited circumstances that a SPOUSE and CHILD can apply for the 10 year route from abroad but this does not apply for fiances.

You cannot switch to any other visa category while in the UK as a tourist.
