Applying tier-1 entrepreneur visa: confusion

Post by lookingfortier1 » Wed May 02, 2018 11:11 am

Dear All,
I'm in UK-London on Tier 2 ICT dependent visa and i want to apply tier-1 entrepreneur visa, when I'm applying online, I got 2 links:
1) Applying outside the UK (Entry Clearance)
2) Applying inside the UK (Initial or Extension application)

I'm from India but currently I'm in UK on Tier 2 ICT dependent visa till august 2019 so which link should i use for applying tier-1 entrepreneur visa? Thanks in advance. Regards, Ravi

If you are in Uk on dependent visa, then you need to apply from India, and get a new Entry Clarence Entrepreneur Visa, As a Dependent you can't switch your visa in UK.

You have to apply outside the UK, £200k route as you are a PBS Dependent and not a Tier 2 main visa holder.
Switch to this visa
You may be able to switch to a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa.

You should apply before your current visa expires.

You can apply to switch to this visa if you meet the eligibility requirements and you’re already in the UK under one of the following categories:

Tier 1 (General)
Tier 1 (Investor)
Tier 1 (Graduate entrepreneur)
Highly Skilled Migrant Programme
Tier 2
a visitor who has been carrying out permitted activities as a prospective entrepreneur
You can also switch from one of the following categories if you have specific types of funding:

Tier 1 (General)
Tier 4
Char (CR001 not Casa)

Thanks CR001 for your response but why £200k route? Why i can not apply with £50k route? AS i have my own limited company in UK-London, and i'm working as a director cum software developer of that company since last 4 months. Thanks, Ravi

You can apply for the 50K route if you meet the funding criteria set out. https://www.gov.uk/tier-1-entrepreneur/ ... ment-funds sets out those.

You can apply if you have access to £50,000 in investment funds from one or more of the following:

a UK entrepreneurial seed funding competition endorsed by the Department for International Trade (DIT)
a UK government department making funds available for the purpose of setting up or expanding a UK business
a venture capital firm registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)

You can only use the £50k route in very specific limited circumstances and from certain visas.

Two separate issues
- you can only apply from your home country as you a PBS dependant
- you can apply for 50K only if you have funding as specified in my previous post

Post by lookingfortier1 » Mon Aug 13, 2018 11:01 am

Dear All Seniors members,
I want to apply Tier 1 entrepreneur Visa with £200k fund, as of now i dont have fund. I'm planning to apply with my friend/ partner. And we both are planning to sell our property in India which we'll get £200k fund. So can we apply if we will get fund by next month, we both are computer professionals and did B.Tech enginnering and have Naric certificate as well. I have below questions

1) is there any condition for Fund available in our account for. e.g £200k fund should be availabe in our accounts since 3 months or 6 months? is there any similar condition for same?
2) Can we withdrawl this amount in future after we will get our visa?
3) If fund will come into our Saving account that will it work? or do we need to transfer in any UK account?
4) Can we show our property in papers if we dont have CASH?

Thanks in Advance for your help.

Regards,
Ravi

3) If fund will come into our Saving account that will it work? or do we need to transfer in any UK account? ==> Yes, your foreign account is fine
4) Can we show our property in papers if we dont have CASH? ==> No

Thanks Marcnath, one last question, If i have 100K £ and my friend who also in India also have 100k £ so can we make both partner and both can apply Tier 1 enterprenaur visa and our both family can stay in UK?

As per uk gov site https://www.gov.uk/tier-1-entrepreneur/ ... ment-funds
--made available to you by other people (‘third parties’), such as a spouse, partner or investor
--in a joint account with your spouse or partner but only if they are not applying for a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa

I'm not able to understand last line meaing " but only if they are not applying for a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa"

waiting for your reply. Regards, Ravi

Yes you can both apply as an entrepreneur team.

The highlighted above only means you can't share the money with someone who is applying for T1E on their own
