Spouse of a settled person

Post by haar13 » Sun Sep 16, 2018 9:08 pm

Hello Members

I am new to this website so please pardon me if this question has already been asked and answered. I tried to search but could not find any post fully similar to my position.

My spouse's timeline (Main applicant/Sponsor)

1. Came in the UK on Student Visa in Oct 2008
2. PSW Visa from 2010 to 2012
3. T4 (General) from 2012 to 2015
4. T2 (General) from 2015 to Nov 2018
5. ILR application on 10 year route to apply in Oct-18

My timeline :

1. Came in the UK in 2011 as a dependent on PSW
2. Applied as a T4 dependent in 2012
3. Applied as a T2 (General) dependent from 2015 to Nov 2018.

No breaks in continuous leave for both except for a few holidays.

Which category do I need to apply under after the main applicant receives ILR (10 yr route)?

Is it FLR (M) if I meet all the conditions of Finance and English language?
Or is it some other category?

What are the other categories such as Set (M), Set (LR)?

I am confused between all these different categories. Any help would be appreciated as I am looking to make the application very soon.

I think since your visa is going to expire and your sponsor partner has now changed to ILR on long residence basis from T2 route so the only option for you to apply FLRM spouse visa which will reset your time to ILR means you have to spend further 5 years. Otherwise if he keep continue on T2 and complete his 5 years then you can apply extension under pbs dependant which would save your already spent time for ILR. OR now you can apply ILR on long residence basis in 2021 if that route remain active by then.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Yes, FLR(M) and English and financial requirement will need to be met.
