Visa for 28year old son

Post by Haqamali » Sun Jan 21, 2018 10:07 pm

Hi.

This is my first post, so apologies if I am posting in the wrong forum.

I recently got my Italian passport, and my family want to shift to the UK.
My son who still has a Pakistani passport living in Italy want s to move with us.

He is 28years old, works as a mechanic and is not financially dependant on me at all. Can he come with us.

He has already applied for an eea family permit visa in Italy and been refused as he is not financially dependant on me. Is there any way to get around this?
I have heard if he comes on a visitor visa to the UK, he can apply for definite stay??

Unfortunately, no. Dependency is one of the requirements under 7(b)(ii). He would have to qualify on his own under the Immigration rules.

Perhaps he may visit. However, Visitors may not switch into another category.

Entry at Manchester airport

Post by Haqamali » Sun Sep 16, 2018 12:51 pm

Hi.

My son wants to travel to the UK with us next month, to live and work here.

His eea family permit has been rejected twice. I am his father with an Italian passport.

He has a Pakistani passport, but is named on my Italian sojourner.
He is 28years old. Not dependent on me.

I have heard of family members arriving at the airport and been issued visas??
Is it likely he will get this. We are travelling from Bologna.

As you have already been advised when you asked the question previously in January, did you read the links vinny provided??. Direct family members, i.e. spouse of EU citizen, can get stamped in on arrival under the EEA/EU rules as far as I understand (presuming they can get on the plane without a UK entry visa).

UK residence card

Post by Haqamali » Sun Oct 07, 2018 10:43 pm

Hi

So my son successful ly entered the UK last week. He has an article 10 residence card, and he was travelling with my wife and I, who both have Italian passport s.

Now he wants to apply for an UK residence card. He is going to apply for a job, I do not work.
He has a non EU passport. Will he get a UK residence card if he can prove he supports himself.

I have read somewhere that I have to be the one supporting him? IE the qualified person?

Thanks

I believe that he has to be dependent on you. You should be also qualified person or a person who has PR.

See also Lim, etc.
