Adoption

Post by Carrieakarason » Fri Feb 15, 2019 6:49 pm

Hi there. I have a bit of a problem. My husband is adopted and his birth father is now a citizen of the UK but his birth grandmother was actually born there. His birth father has been uncooperative though. It turns out that his adoptive mother is a british citizen since before he was adopted though she hasn't lived there in years. Is it possible to claim ancestral or even citizenship through her if he has certified adoption papers? Any help at all would be appreciated. Really really want to leave SA.

Definitely not because he must be well above of 18 years old.

He can apply for an ancestral visa if his adoptive mother's mother was British and born in the UK.
