WhatsApp chats for fiancé visa

Post by mark2019 » Fri Dec 13, 2019 9:38 pm

Hello Guys

I have been reading a lot about people screen shotting and using WhatsApp chats as proof of relationship for the Uk fiancé visa as supporting evidence.

What I would like to know is what exactly are the looking for when people use this as evidence? It seems a little intrusive to send WhatsApp message. Any help would be great filly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Ho aren't interested in your message content. They want to see evidence of a subsiding relationship and communication.

Hello CR001

So simply just screen shots showing the dates of when the conversations happened?

You need to obviously include the conversations too

Yes so what I mean is screen shot random messages (I assume it doesn’t matter the content) that show different dates for example 2 in June 2 in July 2 in August etc?

For mind satisfaction if you are concerned with the content of chat/communication exchanged on a particular day/date then you can even skip & replace it with other source of social media such as facebook/Skype/email etc. Usually there is no threshold as many screenshots should be but it should be as much as possible along with other subsisting relationship evidences.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Yes, and most of screenshots in Whatsapp with the date on them are first screenshots for the day. For me this was most of the time "good morning. did you sleep well?" Not saying that all of the screenshots shall be like this, but I'm sure one can find general chit chat rather than more intimate discussions.

But in general I agree with OP: yes, this is intrusive and along with photos, cover letters etc feels a bit like one is taking part in a reality show by exposing personal details, salaries, savings etc. I - at some point - just managed to reconcile with it.

Many Thanks for your input guys. I managed to work out when scrolling through WhatsApp the date auto appears so managed to screen shot the date, made sure the content was not too intrusive and also screen shot pictures of us within WhatsApp That we sent to each other to further prove the relationship. I’m thinking this should be good enough I’ve done roughly 3 per month spanning over a year and a half. Would you say that sounds sufficient?

Again many thanks for your help

It's really hard to say what is considered to be enough. I was advised by consultant that 2-3 printscreens per every 7-10 days of our communication will be good. I think at the end I did 2-3 per every 4-5 days, so for us it was around 300 printscreens (also 1.5 years of relationship).

I believe it also depends on what other evidence you have. Tickets traveling to each other? Photos? The more alternative evidence you have, the less details you need to share in the printscreens of Whatsapp. At the end of the day, I think they just open the file with printscreens and close it if it looks ok. I'm sure they don't have time to read through these chats.

APPENDIX 2 QUESTIONS

Post by mark2019 » Wed Dec 18, 2019 2:30 pm

Hello Guys

Was wondering if any of you amazing people can help me answering the following questions of the Appendix 2. We are applying for a fiancé visa

We met 1 and half years ago, partner is Peruvian and I am British. I have visited her in Mexico (where she lives) 3 times and she has visited me here in the uk, where she lived with me for four months and I proposed

1.19 - have you lived with your sponsor in a relationship akin to marriage at any time? (Am I right to assume this is no?)

2.8 - do you intend to work in the UK ( are we ok to put yes, once she is legally permitted following the approval of a spouse visa upon approval after we are married?)

3.3 - from the list below indicate the main method you meet the financial requirements ( can we choose more than 1 option, if I am both employed and self employed and meet the requirement on both would I still put both or just one)

3.12 - Has you sponsor been with the same employer on the salary as provided above for the last 6 months or more from date of application. (I had a pay rise In 1st July and will be 6 months from 1st Jan, when we submit the application it will be about 28th December and the bio metrics early Jan, should I put yes or no to this?)

3.51 - what is the name of your sponsors company (self employment) ( I am a land lord and don’t have a company just do a tax return each year, am I able to just put my name and as the company?)

3.58 - I’m not sure if I am considered category F or category G. Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance guys

1.19 - Correct. For fiancé visa it won't be a requirement to have lived together in a relationship akin to marriage for 2 years, the application form is just the same as the spouse visa one.

2.8 - Might be worth putting no to this one as on the fiance visa itself work is not permitted.

3.3 - Not sure if online application will allow you to choose 2 options but selecting 2 is probably best if you can (or on paper form).

3.12 - The question is pretty clear about the 6 months being measured from the date of application. The biometrics date doesn't matter as all documentation should be dated before application date anyway.

3.51 - Not sure but imagine that would be fine. Again likely a quirk of the application form being used for multiple situations. Including a cover letter explaining the situation can often help clarify any answers you weren't sure about.

3.58 - The only difference between categories F and G is whether the income you are trying to use towards the financial requirement is for the last full financial year (Category F) or average of the last 2 financial years (Category G).
I'm just a guy on the Internet who immigrated to the UK. My opinions are based on my experience and interpretation of the immigration rules and should not be considered legal or immigration advice; your mileage may vary.

RELATIONSHIP EVIDENCE

Post by mark2019 » Mon Dec 30, 2019 4:36 pm

Thank you very much for your help guys I think we are almost ready to submit everything.

The last question I had is do you think the following is good enough evidence for our relationship evidence?

Photos and dates of us together (around 40)

WhatsApp conversations - 4-6 per month over a 18 month period

FaceTime log - 3 months (for some reason won’t allow me to go back further)

Passport stamps showing dates we flew to see each other which correspond with our photos together.

Email e tickets of our flights

Bookings for events and hotels (not sure if I can use these as it only has my name but for 2 people, again dates correspond with the times we were together)

Confirmation of our wedding ceremony booking

Thanks

You can use the bookings for events and hotels even with just your name. Passport stamps and photos indicating you were in same country at the time and or place serves as contemporaneous evidence corroborating your claims. Besides dates, write little notes on the pictures e.g. 25.12.2019 - 1 and fiancee at Royal Albert Hall.

Thank you very much

Also I’m a bit worried now, it said on the online form you need to provide 12 months bank statements and payslips.

I fall under 3A (same employer and wage for 6 months+) Do I need to still provide 12 months or 6 months?

Which year? The current tax year?

They are optional. Best to leave it out.

The P60 from tax year to 5th April 2019.(6th April 2018 - 5th April 2019)

The next one does not come out until April 2020

So you would suggest not submitting it?

Thanks

WHICH VISA TYPE FIANCÉ VISA

Post by mark2019 » Wed Jan 01, 2020 11:32 am

Hello Guys

We are just about to submit our application and I’m freaking out a little. We are applying for the fiancé visa and I heard there is also something called unmarried partner visa?

When filling in the details online and downloading the PDF it says type of visa / application - Apply to enter the UK as a partner. Is this correct for fiancé visa?

Also I want to ask again on the same lines. In the question What is your relationship status? They do not have Fiancé, the closest options are single (means that you have never been married or in a civil partnership and that you do not currently consider yourself in a relationship) or unmarried partner (means that you currently consider yourself in a relationship but are not married or in a civil partnership). I would assume unmarried partner as she is my fiancé?

Last thing I keep noticing is people mentioning when do the application the options settlement, Settlement, Marriage. Why do I keep seeing this and what does it mean as I’ve not come across it?

Apologies if these questions seem a little silly to you guys, but I’m just freaking out now that I may get something wrong.

Many thanks in advance and happy new year
