completed both the Spoken and the Live in the UK tests. then what?

Post by Tee2121 » Sat Jun 24, 2023 7:50 pm

What form do I need to fill out in order to apply for British citizenship? You can read "to be used by people in the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, and British overseas territories" if you download the from AN.

Is that the right one?

If not, please direct me to where I may obtain the correct information; this is all new to me, and I am becoming very frustrated.

I've been in this nation for almost 20 years, married to an EU citizen, and we're still married but not living together. Is this an issue?
I have indefinite leave to remain document issued in 2008, which need to be renewed in 2024.
thank you very much

Select the option “apply online” - this is the normal route if you are in the UK. You marital arrangements are not an issue. You can apply in your own right.
I recommend you slow down and do this step by step-don’t rush, avoid mistakes.
Have you reviewed the AN guidance?
You have full settled status? It doesn’t expire - only the card expires.

Thank you for your guidance alterhase58. Just to clarify, should I leave the "married" section empty? Additionally, if I am applying online, how can I include the photograph and the details of the two referees?

You still need to answer all questions unless they are marked optional. Not an issue if you are married and apply individually based on the 5 years route.

Referee declarations: you stick the photos on the form, get it signed, then scan and load with the other documents.

Seeking Guidance for AN Application - Unsure about Input, Need Help

Post by Tee2121 » Tue Aug 01, 2023 6:04 pm

Greetings fellow forum members,

I hope you are all doing well. I am currently in the process of applying for immigration through the 5 years route, and I could really use some guidance regarding two points in the application.

Firstly, the application requires me to enter an immigration reference number. However, I am unsure about what this number is and where to find it. If anyone knows what number I should input in this field, please kindly let me know.

Secondly, I am facing a challenge with providing the Date and Place of arrival. It has been over 20 years since I arrived in London, and I cannot recall the exact date. I remember the location being London, but the specific date escapes my memory. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to handle this situation.

Thank you all in advance for your support and valuable insights. Your help will significantly aid me in completing the application accurately and smoothly.

Best regards,

Topics merged. Please keep all questions on the same application in one topic.

The question does say "IF KNOWN". If you don't know, leave it blank or state unknown.

Do you not have your initial passport you entered the UK on to look back at? It doesn't matter if you don't recall the exact date.

In the first part of the application, under "Personal Information" section (1.1), it asks you to provide any reference numbers related to your immigration. The form does not mention "if known," so it's unclear whether you need to fill this section if you don't have any reference numbers.

Regarding the "Residence Requirements" section (2.1), it asks for the date and place of your first arrival in the United Kingdom. Unfortunately, I don't have any documents from that time. However, I remember it was in early 2021, but I can't recall the exact month and day.

In summary, I am unsure if I should provide reference numbers without having them, and I am struggling to remember the precise month and date of my first arrival in the United Kingdom in early 2021. The form requires you to enter the date in the format DD/MM/YY and the place.

Note that we do not have sight of the online forms. Reference numbers are not important. You have EU PR or Settled Status or a BRC, it has a reference number.

Do you mean 2001? Just put the year and a month/day, it is not an important question. You can explain in the relevant section at the end of the form.

Apologies for the confusion in my previous message. Yes, I meant 2001 as the year of my first arrival in the UK.

Regarding the application form, I noticed there's a full page provided at the end for "Further information not covered in other sections." I'm wondering if it would be acceptable to use that page to add an explanation about my situation with the date and place of arrival. Since I don't have any documents from that period and can only recall that it was in early 2001, I want to make sure I provide all the necessary details in the most appropriate way.

There's no requirement to provide proof of the date and place of arrival, your best estimate will be ok, such as month & year. You are free to attach an explanation. But it's not an item of data which would lead to a refusal.

Hey everyone,

Quick question – I've been living in the UK for over 20 years, and I'm wondering if my passport would work as valid proof of my residency here? Any insights or advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
