Hi all,
I am in a pickle.
My visa is up for renewal in 9 days and I just realised that my language test is unlikely to be valid. I booked SELT test for Sunday but it might take 10 days for the certificate to arrive (i.e after visa is expired). What is the best course of action here?
I understand that I will be uploading the documents so I can just put down in the section (How did you get your result?) ( Certificate) instead of a ref number, which should buy me time.
Is that the best way.
Thank you

Thanks. That thread is loaded with information.
I got "Unique Electronic Reference Number" when I booked the test. Will it be the same when I get the results. I.e, I can use it in the application.

The UER which will be on the certificate is what you will input in the application.
Can you give details of previous Englidh test and to see if can still be re used I.e which one you did, what level was it, when done, used for a successful application before

Hi
Does that mean the UER in booking email would be different from the one on the certificate?
The previous test was IELTS academic, score 5 overall = CERF level B1. I thought it would be accepted by the HO, but apparently it is not. Furthermore, the test provider (Leeds) is not on the approved list!!!

What are you applying for?
How does the previous test fail
32D
If an applicant applying for limited leave to enter or remain under Part 8 or Appendix FM submits an English language test certificate or result and the Home Office has already accepted it as part of a successful previous partner or parent application (but not where the application was refused, even if on grounds other than the English language requirement), the decision-maker will accept that certificate or result as valid if it is:
- (a) from a provider which is no longer approved, or
- (b) from a provider who remains approved but the test the applicant has taken with that provider is no longer approved, or
- (c) from a test centre which is no longer approved, or
- (d) past its validity date (if a validity date is required), provided that it is at or above the requisite level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages and when the subsequent application is made the award to the applicant does not fall within the circumstances set out in paragraph 32B of this Appendix.
or
2.2(
b)?

Also, I sat A1 test for my first visa. Would that still work?

A1 level is too low for an extension.
If you submitted both A1 and B1 tests previously, then you may not know which one they had accepted?

I see. A1 is out of the window then.
IELTS academic doesn't seem to fit as it is not from an approved provider. I am setting TCL A2 tomorrow. Hopefully I get the results before my visa expires.
My visa is valid till the 25th. I imagine I can apply on the 25th and it will still be in time, right? it is ok for biometrics to be done after that, right?

What does “valid till 25”
mean?
Application should be submitted before leave expires. It’s
okay for biometrics to be after application date.

yeah, HO is notoriously ambiguous. Will err on the side of caution and apply before the 25th.
Thank you Vinny for your help

Biometrics can be done afterwards, it's the application you should ensure is submitted before expiration of current leave.

FLR(M) is the correct application.
FLR(FP) is a different set of rules, usually when you don't meet the requirements for FLR(M). FLR(FP) can also put on a 10 year route to ILR.
