Re: Indian Passport Surrender

Dear all, 1.what should I do with that cancelled passport ? Can I destroy it as this is no use now? Thanks in advance. Your question is specific to minor's passport. Well even though it has been cancelled, it has some value in regards to identity as being Indian origin. When last time in India advo...

Yes Affidavit required

Whether or NOT minor had Indian citizenship or passport, you still are required to submit a affidavit for a minor for non- acquisition of Indian nationality. And a joint affidavit if both parents are responsible for minor. If you search this section of the forum you will find template for joint affi...

CGI Edinburgh Acknowledgment delays

Patience almost about to wear out!

Just beggars belief why it would take more than 2 months for CGI Edinburgh to acknowledge the OCI applications? Whereas in London it happens within 1 month!

The nearest NCS to me is some 150 miles away so need to be sure who is required to attend, work out the cost before deciding whether to proceed or to just use Royal Mail recorder next ...

I don't think there is such a thing as partially qualified. You either qualified or not. He doesn't need to work as an accountant but he needs to be qualified as one. Do you think an application for citizenship with a partially qualified accountant as referee (and no other 'professional' referee) w...

Re: Address Proof

HariMathy wrote:Is the address proof required for OCI application?
Embassy and consulates in the UK have jurisdictions for applications, hence it is required to submit self attested photocopy of the recent address proof, if by post only. and same copy along with original to present when in person.

1. Can I apply for OCI in person (at Indian embassy London) by printing form A and B with all required docs? Or does Form A has to be done online? 2. If you surrendered your Indian passport you will have no option but to apply for visa for India. Thinking of OCI will be simply haphazard in your circumstances. And for visa you must apply through VFS either in person or postal; and not the HCI. You dont need any originals for the OCI application, w...

I believe in the group ceremony all participants take oath/pledge one by one and after all have taken their turns, finally the national anthem will be played. So in your case if you both taking oath/pledge then at the time of standing and attending the anthem, who will look after kids? Even if you b...
