Re: The "Could you live outside the UK?" question

Not a new question. Maybe it depends on the type of ILR. Nothing wrong with your answer as I don’t think it makes any difference as long as you meet the requirements. If you don’t meet them, then they may consider humanitarian reasons for you to remain in the UK.

Re: New Appointment Centre UKVCAS

I really don’t know! Or maybe do as cemj did? I doubt it really matters especially in these early days when some clarity is needed. We don’t have to apply yet (SET(M) like you), so hopefully others will advise.I would like to think that, once all the necessary documents are uploaded, that they would...

Congratulations! It appears they are now sending emails confirming success! Were you able to go in with him for biometrics or did you have to wait in another area?

Re: New Appointment Centre UKVCAS

In my case, I have also dependents so for each dependent I upload all documents into one folder Proof of Application. I uploaded all documents into the folder Proof of Application. This is easy for the caseworker to view documents. Don't worry about the quality of your scanned supporting documents,...

Don't worry about the quality of your scanned supporting documents, as long as you can see them clearly. The staff at your appointment center will do the scan of your passport even if y...

I have asked on another forum and that person said there was no request for 'proof of application'! So I have no clue!

Thanks allyf! I hope someone who has completed the process will come back to advise on the issue of 'proof of application' but they all seem to have deserted us!

Re: New Appointment Centre UKVCAS

I just did a test run scanning my passport (I am the sponsor) and the entire document is 1.4mb. The resolution 75dpi is not bad but I could have increased that and still ended up with a file under 6mb.It is a real bore though doing it! Can anyone tell me please whether the applicant has to provide a...

Re: New Appointment Centre UKVCAS

I wonder if they are asking for proof of payment when they ask for proof of application? It seems weird that, having submitted the application form online, you have to resubmit it! And isn’t it a large file?

Re: help - set(m) document uploading categories??

That makes sense! It would be nice, and maybe they will do it soon, to have guidance notes which used to be available under the old system. It is probably more important to upload all the necessary documents rather than putting them in the right 'boxes'.

Re: New Appointment Centre UKVCAS

From reading posts, jpg or pdf can be uploaded. Pdf are usually smaller files in my experience. Each file must be no larger than 6mb.

Re: help - set(m) document uploading categories??

I hope someone who has completed the process will help. I am not sure myself but, of course, you can wait until your appointment and get them to do it! Or get their advice on what should go where. I mean does Residence refer to documents including Land Registry, tenancy agreements etc but it might m...

Re: UKVCAS Super Priority Service

It is wonderful when applicants who have been successful come back onto the forum and can answer questions! Please stay around! With a new system like this, there are so many uncertainties and, because the form is only online now and we cannot see it, we have no idea what to expect.

New application process ILR. Download and print form?

As I read of others experiences and trying to get my head round it all, more questions crop up! Firstly, can you download and print your completed application form before being directed to the Sopra Steria site for an appointment? Can you also see the documents you uploaded as a list? Also I underst...

Re: Scanning documents under new application process

Thanks! That is helpful. My concern is my husband's abundance of passports which I am intending to scan myself and I guess upload. I presume I could either just upload those myself and pay for the Centre to upload the rest of his documents or upload everything myself. I will decide nearer the time a...

Re: UKVCAS Super Priority Service

The experience has been different for different people. Even I haven't received any emails and I got a letter saying my application has been approved and that I would get the brp in a separate mail. Still waiting for it. The process is not consistent at all. Thank you for your response. May i ask h...

Re: New Appointment Centre UKVCAS

If I upload my supporting documents by myself do I still need to pay for scanning them? Or do I need to pay for checking them? Can I only pay for biometrics and upload my docs by myself? Yes, you can upload your own documents if you choose to do so. You can also get them checked for an extra cost b...

There are several posts in this forum where applicants have paid for the 24 hour decision but have not heard for up to five or six days. It appears that while the decision may be made quickly, the letter confirming approval can take several days. In a couple of cases, the BRP has arrived sooner tha...
