Thanks for your inputs. I sent them a letter informing them of the error and requested them to resend the acknowledgement letter with the correct name. Hope it helps! However, I'm pretty sure that the Biometric letter is already on its way with the wrong name on it, not sure what to do about that. K...

don't worry about it, my passport also doesn't have a surname. None of my previous visa applications have ever been refused because of that. Well, that's not true anymore. I applied on July 5th with a travel date of Aug 28th. Got the visa stamped with validity starting Aug 28th.

if you're talking about the ref number for tracking the application on the VFS website, that's there on the receipt given to you by VFS when you submit the application.
