Just sent paperwork on Thursday which was delivered on Friday.

Had a few questions

How long should it take for my paperwork to be returned back to me (pre-paid envelope was included)?

After how long should i start panicking if my papers are not returned?

How can I track the progress of my application? Is jt via phone, email etc

No way to track, all you can do is wait or use the pay services contact number and email and even then, you still won't get an accurate update from the third party call centre.

Im from uk. Sent paperwork to sheffield. My wife is from Pakistan.

What is the pay service contact number and email? What is the charge?

Can you also please also answer my questions regarding my documents being returned to me as I do not want to lose them

You are in for a wait. Applications from Pakistan can take up 60 days, often longer with some members waiting in excess of 6 months.

HO will send your documents back once they are done with them, usually within a few weeks.

They don't give you an actual update - they don't have access to your specific application. You would be just as well off literally throwing your money in the bin.

This has got me worried as I just sent my papers towards the end of the week. The scariest part is that the Home Office can return all the documents you had sent even though they might have not scanned everything.

So my question is how likely is the Home Office to make such a mistake. Is it the rule or an exception to the rule?

These mistakes are happening far too often. You have been on this site longer so you must be well aware. Peoples lives are being ruined simply because a bunch of incompetent amateurs cannot do their jobs properly.

Given how often a visa application is refused due to the fault of the home office it is pretty clear to me that either they dont care or it is done on purpose so more money can be squeezed from poor citizens

Why do you think there is no system of accountability at the home office? It is so that these "errors" can be made time and time again and extra fees can be paid by people time and time again

If it is a case of human error then why not refund fees back to the people who have lost their hard earney money. But you already know they wont do this.

Just sent my paperwork last week, lets see what goes missing and then I get told that these were not provided!

Yes, I do agree but the Home Office are accountable for errors...it's called an Administrative Review (AR).

Administrative review can be raised if either:
• the alleged error could have made a difference to the original decision
• the alleged error could have an unfair impact on the applicant’s future
applications, for example because they may now be refused on general
grounds.

Correct me if Im wrong but this just a review of the decision and not a review of the case worker in question

You can apply for a review of the decision and it may well get overturned after God knows how long but it doesnt mean the case worker will be under scrutiny or be a risk of losing their job. This would be true accountability
