Paragraph 186(iv) of the Immigration Rules says an applicant must be able to workEtherneve wrote: ↑Thu Jan 24, 2019 11:28 pmHello my partner would like to apply through ancestry route. We got married in 2017. Should we mention this on the application. Also I am a British citizen and will be his sponsor as he is not working at the moment. Will that be a problem? Will he have to have a job offer on the table here before he comes? Help !![]()
Do you not qualify to apply for a spouse visa??Please help. I have British citizenship. My husband (Zimbabwean) is applying to join me here via ancestral visa. His grandfather was British and born in the UK. We got married in 2017 and now would like to be together here in the UK. We have a few issues needing clarification please if anybody can help.
Was his grandfather born in the UK?? The requirement is to submit birth certificates. You can try with the death cert, no guarantees though.1. We were able to locate my husbands grandthers birth ceretificate. We have however been unable to locate his fathers birth certificate because in Zimbabwe once a person dies, you have to hand in all identification documents in order to obtain the death certificate. We therefore have a death certificate for his father which also has the grandfathers name on. Do we just submit his grandfathers birth certificate and his fathers death certificate and then explain in additional information?
Yes, you must complete the form honestly and submit marriage cert. No effect on visa. You cannot sponsor him for this visa, he has to qualify for it in his own right.2. Can I also add the fact that we are married and hand in our marriage certificate as supporting evidence and will that not then affect the ancestry route? One of the questions on online application is asking why Iam sponsoring him, hence that question
There is no requirement that he must be employed in Zimbabwe. The requirement is that he must prove he is intending to seek employment in the UK, hopefully he has done this and at least made an effort to contact agencies etc. How is he going to submit evidence of the substantial funds needed in a bank account in his name, usually HO expect to see a bank account with a balance of no less than roughly ZAR25,000.3. I am his main sponsor because with the situation in Zimbabwe he is not able to get a job and regular in come or even maintain a bank account. I also send him money from time to time to help out. Do I submit evidence of these transactions too? I am also going to sponsor this visa and trip. Would that be a problem? Do I need to provide special documentation as a sponsor?
No requirement to write anything but you might want to explain the birth cert issue for his father.4. What information can I add to support this information in the Additional Comments section when applying online.

His father was born in Zimbabwe. We only have his death certificate.
Financially I would have to because of the bank account situation in ZimbabweYes, you must complete the form honestly and submit marriage cert. No effect on visa. You cannot sponsor him for this visa, he has to qualify for it in his own right.
Is there no way round this? This is because the situation in Zimbabwe prohibits the common man from holding a bank account with forex let alone the £2500 plus required for the application. I was going to apply on his behalf online then pay. He would then just go and submit documentation at the Visa Centre in Harare. There is no requirement that he must be employed in Zimbabwe. What exactly do you mean by the dates of birth were different? In what documents etc?the date of birth of both his parents did not match the dates of birth on the birth certificate. They were unable to verify the documents (not sure what this means).
What 'relevant office'? Surely your partner check the application thoroughly before submitting?? For admin review you cannot submit new evidence. AR is for when UKVI makes an error.an official letter from The relevant office to confirm that the birth certificates are correct and also apologise for the error made on the application form.
IHS will be refunded yes. To use savings though, you need at least £16,000 but likely more.
