Sending Off Settlement Visa - Help! Earliest I can send?

Post by usasunshine23 » Mon Oct 14, 2019 4:15 am

Hi Guys, I'm a bit confused about the timelines of sending off my settlement visa for my son.

Is the earliest I can send the visa from " intended day of travel" 3 months or 90 days?

example: Today is Oct 14 2019

3 months - Jan 14 2020

90 days - Jan 11 2020

I dont want my visa getting denied because I sent a few days early of an intended travel day. What does UKVI go by?

Application wont be denied only due to this reason.

Hi Seagul,

So if my intended date of travel is Jan 15 2020, and 90 days from now is Jan 14 2020, should I wait one more day to send off my visa?

Thanks!

If you wish then yes you can but make sure that the supporting documents doesn't get older than 28 days from the date of submission of application.

Hi Seagul,

So if I sent it today 91 days from now would there be problems? So what does UKVI go by 3 months or 90 days from the intended day of travel?

No issue as the processing of many applications may even go beyond to the intended date depending on the case and applications backlog.

A Settlement visa processed in a few days? Is that even possible? Please Read

Post by usasunshine23 » Thu Oct 24, 2019 10:25 pm

Hi,

So I have a timeline as followed: ( Settlement Child applying from Melbourne Australia)
Application online: Oct 17, 2019
Went to Biometrics/submitted paperwork: Oct 21, 2019
Got a text: Th visa application GWFxx was forwarded to UKVI on Oc 21, 2019.
I called UKVI customer service today Oct 25, 2019, saying it was processed and he couldn't give me more info.

Take in mind I paid priority but shouldn't be this quick.

Does anyone have any idea what could've happened?

I'm stressed because I have done a successful spouse settlement visa in the past in 2017 being completed in 32 WD, so I know this is the usual timeframe.

The only thing you can possibly do is wait for your decision/passport

Post back with results please. Would be interesting to know the outcome

The ONLY case I know was a 3 day processing after a submission of a spousal visa from abroad..crazier things do happen...

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.

Did Not get a Receipt from VFS or UKVI. Should I Escalate?

Post by usasunshine23 » Tue Oct 29, 2019 12:47 am

Hey,

So I am applying for a Child Settlement visa and my timeline goes like this: ( From Melbourne Australia)

PRIORITY
Online Application: Oct 16 2019
Biometrics: Oct 21 2019
Text from VFS: We have forwarded your application of GWF xxx - Oct 21, 2019, a few hours after the appt.
Called UKVI today: Oct 29 2019, told them that I havent received any other receipt and what is going on? they said " It is awaiting a decision, I can't tell you if someone is working on it at the moment, but its awaiting a decision, if we need anything we will contact you"

I told her" well I had issues at VFS Melbourne that they had issues scanning my documents so how do I know its all been sent through ok?

and she said " It is awaiting A decision that's all I can tell you"

Should I let it go and wait?

Thanks.

How does UKVI decide timeframe on your vignette? I should've not bought flights!

Post by usasunshine23 » Tue Oct 29, 2019 9:28 pm

Hi, maybe it is a simple question but I am trying to understand how UKVI decides that timeframe on your stamped visa on your passport. I've noticed on the timelines that usually when people get their passport back they have roughly the 30 days from the time they get it back. Is this the case? I should've not bought flights, but does anyone know how they decide this? For example, as I paid for priority for my settlement visa, I asked for the desired date of arrival on Jan 15 but got tickets for feb 1 - im an idiot.

If you specifically stated intended date if travel, then the visa will likely be valid from that date. If it is not, UKVI will correct it for free provided you provide some evidence that you clearly stated a specific date.

UKVI also clearly states not to book flights until the visa has been approved, issued and collected.

Yeah and I should've not done that honestly, it's my fault. Only reason why I posted this was that I noticed in the settlement timeline threads that for example, someone would get their passport back Sept 5th, their visa dates are like Sept 7 - Oct 1.

So my projected time of me getting my visa back is around last week of November, I was worried dates would be like Nov 30 - Dec 30
