Life in Uk test for ILR

Post by MehreenNajeeb » Sun Jan 26, 2020 3:40 pm

Hi,
My ILR is due in the end of this year i.e. November 2020. I just want to ask that can I give my life in UK test now? Would it be valid till my application?
Secondly do I need to give language test as I have an IELTs general certificate of 2015 and I am a dependant on a British Citizen. He is my husband and working as a doctor since 2012 in UK.
Many thanks.

Yea you can..liuk does not expire.

Useful to state what your current visa is. If you hold a PBS dependent visa for 5 years, which I assume is the case, then you need a current test that is on the current ho approved list. Your previous test won't count as it is expired and was not required for a PBS dependent visa.

If for some reason you switched to FLR m spouse visa after your husband got ilr or British citizenship in 2017/2018, then you likely don't qualify for ilr based on 5 years residence yet.

Thank you for your reply.
Yes i have PBS dependant tier 2 visa. But i have read in your FAQs that if your partner is settled in uk and you are dependant on him then you don’t need to give a language test.

Which FAQs and point in the FAQs is that?? You have clearly misread.

The English requirement is mandatory for ilr.

ILR FORM TYPE?

Post by MehreenNajeeb » Sun Sep 06, 2020 12:24 pm

Hi, I am on Tier 2 PBS dependant visa and going to complete my 5 years stay in November 2020. Which set of form do I need to apply for ILR? And do I have to pay health surcharge?
P.s. My husband and two kids are British National.

What is your visa category?

Edit: Just checked your history. You can apply when you complete 5 years on the PBS route minus 28 days counting from initial visa issue date (earliest) or before visa expiry (latest).

I am assuming your partner got ILR via the PBS route and not LR.

PS Please keep all your questions in one thread. If you dont do that it’s difficult to advise without the whole picture!
