Marriage certificate missing in Family settlement VISA application for dependent

Post by NL2UK » Mon Mar 12, 2018 7:54 pm

Dear Team,

We had applied for the UK Family settlement Visa for my wife from Netherlands. In NL we had to go through TLScontact UK visa center which is located in Amsterdam.

We recently had appointment where my wife had submitted all supporting documents. Later, due to some miscommunication (Between original & copy of marriage certificate) finally, TLScontact center team had not taken xerox/scanned copy of the marriage certificate.

We had realised on same day and went back to TLScontact next morning - However, they had refused to collect and forward document to UK Home Office from their end.

Currently, we are at situation UK Settlement visa applied for my wife and marriage certificate if missing in the list of supporting documents provided.

Could you please advise if its possible to send this document in any other way? Can we directly send scanned copy of marriage certificate to UK home office?

Please advise. :(

What's sponsor nationality and where is she/he now and what he/she is doing?

Hello Seagul,

Sponsor is Indian by nationality. He is in Netherlands for now (travelling on/off from UK to Europe). He is working as software engineer in IT firm.

If the sponsor is Indian & haven't got settled status like ILR/PR in UK then how can you apply for UK settlement visa?? What type of uk visa he has got?

Hi Seagul,

Apologies for not being clear earlier. My husband is an ILR holder and currently we have applied for the Family settlement Visa for me to join my husband in UK. On temporary basis he is located in Netherlands.

Once VISA is approved, we will be travelling together to UK and settle there.

Kindly let me know if you need more details.

If your partner has got uk ILR then yes you can apply for UK settlement spouse visa and i believe you must know the requirements about finance, accomodation, English language, etc. However, marriage certificate is the most important document which absence might not let the case to proceed and if there is a kind caseworker sitting then might ask you to provide it otherwise will refuse the case. Best bet is to send marriage certificate asap through special delivery to the relevant UK visa processing centre along with a brief covering note.

Dear Seagul,

We had sent post via special delivery with cover letter to Sheffield office and it was delivered last Monday early hours. Now, we are not sure if someone will check that post and collect marriage certificate and link that to set of documents we had sent via TLScontact.

We had an appointment on 8th March and we had selected priority Visa service which they had promised decision will be made within 30 days. We really hope, Visa will be approved and confirmation will be sent ASAP.

If your covering letter contained the necessary details like your name, date of birth, case reference then hopefully someone might have linked it with your file.

Dear Seagul,

Thank you for your continuous support this with request. We really hope some one would have linked it as we had provided all the details you have mentioned including the case reference number.

One question, is there any way we can get it validated if they have received and linked it to the existing set of documents?

Also, premium service should take 30 days or less. We hope, this hold true in our case.

Is paid email and call services of UK Home office is the only way to track the progress?

Its been 12 working days so far... Shall I just wait for 30 days or can give a call/email to check the status. Priority visa service is the service we have opted and expected it to be a quick process.

17 working days no news from UK Home office for settlement Visa

Post by NL2UK » Wed Apr 04, 2018 8:14 pm

Hello,

Its been 17 working days since we had Biometrics done and still status in the VISA tracking portal via TLScontact, Netherlands shows no progress update.

Is there anyway we can track the progress? We had opted for Priority Visa service and expected this to be picked up for processing asap (Generally, we have advised to wait for 30 working days) - But, expected an response considering we had opted for priority service which costed huge amount. :(

Pls advise, if we need to wait or shall we give a try bu calling them/dropping an email which is again an additional cost (Already spent quite a big amount now  )

in your other thread you yourself said that the centre told you that they will process it in 30 days then why you worried only after 17 days

Dear seagul,

That's correct :? But, we were hopeful and confident that it should get progressed within 15 working days and it has crossed. That's the main reason for our worry :?:

Do you think, its wise to wait or contact the UK home office via the paid services :-(
