Applying for settlement visa for Wife and Child

Post by sevendust12 » Mon Dec 11, 2017 10:42 am

Hi All,

I am in the process of applying for settlement visas for my wife and daughter. I have a few questions to ask please:

1. In the financial requirement part, it says i need to be earning 22,400 a year before tax. How will it be calculated if I was working for the company for 6-7 months?
I have a contract, payslips which states my yearly salary (more than enough) and also bank statements which reflects my monthly pay (same as what's shown on the payslips as well).

2. I am currently working in London (renting a small room) but my permanent home is located up North - 4 bedroom house owned by my Mother (council tax and electoral vote registered at Mother's address). Can I use this address as their place of accommodation when they arrive provided that I produce a letter from my Mother allowing them to stay there? Will they question how this arrangement will work out? What proof would be relevant to this? Title deed? Utility bill etc? Anything needed on my part?

3. Do I need any substantial amount of money left in my bank account even though my salary is paid in every month and shows that my salary is above their financial requirement?

Please kindly give me some suggestions and advise, much appreciated for all your time.

Thanks.

Hi All,

One more quick question to ask.

When I started my job, I started working mid way of the month (so instead of starting on the 1st, it was the 15th) and was paid for 2 weeks. The rest of the months, it was a full month's salary. So as an example below:

July - 1200
Aug - 2200
Sept - 2200
Oct- 2200
Nov- 2200
Dec- 2200

Would they consider 1200 over the span of 6 months or they'll calculate it on how much i earn for year?

You would be better off waiting till you have your January salary so that you have 6 months of the same income.

Thank you.

So I'm assuming that I'll skip July and provide bank statements and payslips from August to January??

6 months payslips with the same salary will work better and reduce the risk of refusal.

Okay got it, thank you so much.

Does my daughter need to take TB test and English test? Or is she exempted from that?

How old is your daughter?

English test is only for applicants 18 years and older.

Post by sevendust12 » Sat Apr 07, 2018 1:50 pm

Hi All,

I'm in the process of preparing everything for my wife and child's settlement application.

I'm stuck and need help. For the Appendix 2 form, which parts do I need to fill in for my Daughter?

Do I need to fill in everything (Part 1,2,3 and 5) same as my wife's? Just needed to check as alot of the questions in there don't apply to my daughter.

Please help anyone.

Thanks again.

Housing Inspection Report - Is it really a must???

Post by sevendust12 » Mon Apr 09, 2018 3:14 pm

Hi all,

Under accommodations, we will be living in my Mother's 4 bedroom house. There are the documentation I got from her:

1. A letter confirming that we can stay in her house and for free. The letter also states that there's 4 bedrooms and how many rooms are vacant.

2. Land registry under her name

3. House title and deed with details of the house

Is this enough or do I really need a housing report?

You can get a housing inspection report done by online companies , provide them with room measurements and they will issue the report within 24hours. Mine cost me around £60 or so. You rather get it done then not do this and application is rejected. To my understanding you do need this to confirm there is enough space to accommodate you and your wife as you will be living with family and don't have your own place.

UK Settlement Visas for Spouse and Child - More Questions...

Post by sevendust12 » Tue Apr 10, 2018 4:45 pm

Hi All,

I’m in the process of applying for settlement visas for my spouse and child. I’m stuck with the following and need some suggestions or advice on this matter.

1. My salary gets paid into my bank account every 26th of each month (unless it falls on a weekend and the salary goes in on the last working day before the 26th). So my question is this: On each of my payslips, they would state the date salary goes into my Bank Account (e.g 26th of March). The requirements says that payslips should be no older than 28 days, does this mean from the pay date that’s stated on the payslip?

2. My bank statement’s cut off date is 8th of each month. So for March statement, I would need to wait until it’s processed after the cut off date of 8th April before I get the statement through the post. Not sure how to work out the correct timing for the payslip and bank statements to go together?

3. I started my current job Mid October 2017. As I need to provide 6 months payslips, can I exclude October’s payslip as I was paid only half month’s salary and just provide November 2017 to April 2018? That makes 6 full months.

Please help.

Thanks

1. Yes 28 days from payslip date. A lot times payslip dates and actual transfer of wages into account differs which is normal but still 28 days should be from date of payslip.

2. Simply pop into local bank branch as close as after pay date and ask for last 30 days bank statement/entries of transaction on letter head which usually all bank can do. Then just add it with rest. This way you can easily manage together the financial documents dates along with application date.

3. Preferably exclude that month where you half monthly paid and wait extra month to complete 6 months.

Thank you very much for your answer.

Okay, so let's say I excluded Oct's payslip as it's only half a month. Can I process and give them payslips from Nov 2017 - April 2018? That's 6 months worth of payslips. Or do I need to wait another month and give payslips from Nov 2017 to May 2018?

It all depend on when would you like to apply. And remember the last payslip shouldn't be older than 28 days from date of application and the duration of last payslips must cover 6 months.

Thanks Seagul for your input. Yes, my payslips cover 6 months worth.

Mar 2018
Apr 2018 (waiting for this to be issue on 26th Apr as that's when I get paid)

I got one last question if you don't mind. As I started work on Oct 16 2017, it's technically me working at my curent company for 6 and a half months. Can I still apply now even though it's only 2 weeks past my 6 month mark?

Thanks again for your help.

Better to wait for April payslip then apply because if you apply now then you have to attach until March payslip then you have to start from October instead November and in October you got less pay. Better to wait few more days until April payslip then you can even apply same day. In the meantime you can get ready all documents until April payslip arrive.

Thanks Seagul for your help as always.

I wanted to ask - In the application, if asks if applicant travelled to the uk in the last 10 Years, Im not clear on this as My wife came to visit me in UK in Dec 2017. In terms of travelling, it's past 10 years but if you factor in the time she's in the uk, it's goes to 2018. So I was wondering if we need to put Yes or No.

You need to state YES if she travelled to the UK at ANY time in the last 10 years prior to date of spouse visa application. The question is not a trick question and is fairly clear.

Thanks CR001. Sorry, I made a typo when I typed that message.

What I mean was she visited the UK in 2007 (not 2017). She came in Dec 2007 and stay for a few months which went to about April 2008. So my question is do we need to state this? I wasn't sure if traveling to the UK in the last 10 years included the time she was already in the country vacationing.
