Tier 2 ICT Dependent to Tier-2 General

Hi All,

I am on Tier 2 ICT Dependent working with UK employer and my employer offered unrestricted COS.

Can I use this unrestricted COS to apply for Tier2- General visa from UK only?

Any help will be appricaited!

You need a Restricted CoS and can only apply outside the UK.

UCoS is for applications within the UK for people already on Tier 2 General.

I am creating this topic to know more on the process of Tier 2 General application when I am on ICT Dependent visa.

I have Restricted cos and will get English education proof from my Post graduation college.
As per my knowledge, I have to go back to India to apply for this visa.

3. When and How to pay for surcahrge amount?
4. As my Cos is under Shortage occupation list, will it be different process to apply for Tier 2 visa?

I am also in ICT Dependent Visa , waiting for Cos Approval , But I know the process

1) Yes You have to apply from India,

2) English education proof from my Post graduation college is not enough it would be certified by NAARIC association

Statement of Comparability - for your graduation
English Assessment Results - for English Knowledge

You can apply for these documents in Online and you have to attach the soft copies of your degree certificates

3) You need not to do anything for your existing Tier 2 ICT Dependent visa , it will automatically get cancelled, while they approving ur tier 2 general

4) As Cos is under Shortage occupation list, will it be different process to apply for Tier 2 visa?

No difference , but the visa fees will be different, you have to choose SOL Visa appropriate application while applying on online


Fast Track is allowed, surcharge amount will be automatically added with your Visa fee itself when you are booking for the Visa appointment.

I am not sure how, but one of my teammate just provided a Post graduation college letter saying the education was in English and he got Tier -2 General visa.

In which year your team mate got tier 2 general visa , it has been introduced 2 years before I hope not before that , as per my knowledge and as per my employer advice I hope you defn need these documents . I recently applied for this and got these documents within 15 working days. Here the link you can apply for these documents.

COS is sufficient, offer letter can be attached but not mandatory
Is your employer endorsing your maintenance?
If not, you need to provide last 3 months Original bank statements.
What should be Cover Letter format if it is required?
Not mandatory, but you can just write brief letter
stating list of supporting documents attached along with your Application
