Questions regarding visa extention

Post by cornacum » Tue Oct 09, 2018 1:26 pm

Greetings all

I am currently extending spouse visa (+1 dependant) online. There are a few questions which I do not fully understand.

1. When did you enter the UK?
Is this relevant to the first time ever visiting UK (i.e. on a tourist visa) or first time with spouse visa?

Have you previously lived in a country outside the UK including your country of birth?
The applicant has only lived in the country of birth prior to moving to the UK. Should country of birth be included?

I as a sponsor am a British citizen who was born outside the UK. I hold a valid UK passport. Is my birth certificate required for the application?

And finally, regarding the documents which are to be submitted. For example, should the payslips be stapled to the bank statements, or all documents be just submitted randomly arranged? I currently use paper clips to hold each person's bank statement together, payslips etc.

Many Thanks

Spouse visa.

Which question number is this in the FLR(M) form? Are you doing the online form or the paper form? You can include country of birth though, its fine.

No your birth certificate is not required.

No, do not staple the payslips to the bank statements. They are two separate required sets of documents.

Thank you CR001 for the prompt response.

I am using an online form which states it replaces FLR(M) and FLR(FP) paper forms.

The reason I asked about my birth certificate is, at before the end of application form there are check-boxes to tick to confirm certain documents will be provided by the applicant. One of those is: "Birth certificate of both of parents". When we first applied 2.5 years ago, I wasn't asked for a birth certificate.

I would like to ask one more question. The current (first) visa expires on 19/10/2018. I am planning to post the documents a few days prior to expiry. Would the applicant be "overstaying" during the visa processing time as it will go beyond the expiry date, which is on the BRP.

Also, would it be better to hand in the documents physically instead of posting?

Many Thanks

They are not required as far as I am aware.

No she will not be an overstayer if she applies before her current visa expires.

Hand them in where?? There is no 'walk in service' to submit supporting documents if you apply by post. For postal, the date of application is the date you submit online. Only if you apply in person for a same day decision is this possible but it is likely far too late now to get an appointment before the 19th.

CR001 Thank you once again.

One more question if possible.

When it comes to FLR(M) extension supporting documentation... I have printed out my banks statements from online banking. Is this ok?

The Payslips, I will provide originals.

You will need the issuing bank to stamp and sign as verification of validity.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

If documents were received through mail, would they still need to be stamped done? I have until 19/10 to send off the documents, not sure if bank needs appointment etc for this.

In the wore case scenario, would this result in refusal or would I be given chance to provide this later incase I cannot manage to do this on time.

FLR(M) online extention

Post by cornacum » Mon Oct 15, 2018 3:17 pm

Greetings

I am about to make the online payment and send off the documents and would like to ask few questions.

1. I have been told on the forums that my bank statements should be stamped/verified by my bank. I went to my bank (HSBC) today and they have told me that they no longer stamp documents, however, they gave me a printout with my account information only and signed it. Will this be a problem?

2. Should I provide original payslips, just copies or both?

3. With the bank statements, should I also include pages with irrelevant information to account balance etc. these are pages with terms and condition, interest rates information etc.

Many Thanks

1. Apart of account information you must send them entries/transactions especially showing your wages credits.

2. Original/stamped copies

3. Preferably don't include irrelevant pages because it may distract the caseworker from core pages.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Appologies!

Can I further ask, in the following question:

What is the start date of your current visa or leave to remain?

Is this the "Place and date of issue" date as shown on BRP, or the date "valid from" date on the Entry clearance stamp?

Many Thanks
