Hi Freak3out, I am in the same situation as you, with my job been made redundant 2 weeks back. I did not mention redundancy till the time I was working, and once I left the company immediately put it on my resume. I do think it might have a slight effect on your salary negotiation power, but it shou...

Switching from HSMP Dependant to Tier1

Hi All, I have been in the UK since January 2008 on HSMP and my wife is on a HSMP dependant visa. I have some queries about my wife switching from HSMP dependant to Tier1. 1) Is it possible? Or will she have to apply as a Fresh Tier1 applicant? 2) In either case, would she have to go back to India f...

Hi aaammmiii, What you say there is intriguing. I came to the Uk on an hsmp visa in January 2008, and my initial hsmp visa expires January 2010. Do you mean to say that I can apply for an extension in the first week of March 2009 and get a 3 years extension starting March 2009? Note that I am just a...

Applying early for extension

Hi Forum, My hsmp visa is valid till Jan 2009, and there have been rumors of upcoming redundancies in our organization. If I am one of the unlucky ones, I might have to think about applying for HSMP extension as early as possible, as it might take months to get a job going by the current job m...

I wonder whats the status with the people who have been made redundant. When I came into the UK, I found it a little hard to get a job, primarily for the reason that I did not have UK experience and regardless of the fact that I was working with one of the best companies in India my experience was n...
