Can I submit P45 form

Dear All, My previous employer doesn't have my P60 form. But he is having my P45 form and will be sending me my P45 form. Can I show my P45 form in the application as a part of my previous employer's tax returns? I am not even aware of the difference between P45 and P60. Please advice. Thanks Chetan
