OCI Timelines

My two pennies: Ever grateful for the wonderful knowledge, resources and suggestions I received from these forums. I believe there is more talent in these forums than 80% of the immigration agencies put together (another form of Pareto's 80-20!!). The following are my OCI timelines: Date of Acknowle...

Technically, since you already applied for Tier 1, and you did that in good time (before your LTR expires), your stay in the UK is legal until you know of the status of the application.

If Tier 1 is rejected, as in NKSG's reply - 28 days.

Cheers.

Hi, From what I observed with my appointment and with the others around me, I believe they will only let you in around the time of your appointment. So whenever you arrive, walk over to the security and let them know your appointment time... they are the best judge and if its time they'll let you in...

ILR Success at PEO Croydon

Hi All, I've successfully applied for and received my ILR today at the PEO Croydon. My sincere Thanks! as usual to the members of the forum, who take precious time out of their lifestyles and dedicate it to the betterment of immigration knowledge and services in the UK. Thanks once again. In summary...

Where the parents of a British Born child have never been married to each other, citizenship can only be derived from the mother... in your case, since the mother is non-British, the baby is not British.

When the mother acquires ILR, the baby can be registered as a citizen.

Cheers.

Not if you are applying on the basis of Work Permit or HSMP or a combination of both. The minimum years of residence required is 5 years for any of the above - 5 years on a WP or a HSMP etc... However, when applying for ILR after 10 years of legal stay, I believe stay on a visitors visa counts, as i...

Copy of Council Tax Invoice for current address proof. There is no written rule with regards documents to send. The info I sent was purely out of...

Well, the onus is always on the applicant to tell the truth. When you sign section 10 (declaration), any false claims can amount to perjury and be used to your disadvantage. Also, note that the form also asks to list any convictions one may have had - to my mind, such questions are two-dimensional: ...

Its like driving on the motorway... during one of those "phantom" traffic jams, you are not really certain which lane would end up fastest... You have the option of staying in your lane, or changing lanes... either way, the result of your outcome does not depend on where you have been, but on where ...

Quite possible and "technically" allowed. However, most UK terminals have Arrivals and Departures on separate floors. So if you passed through security, it may be a bit complicated to find your way back to where you were. But certainly, if you speak to the "right" officers there, it should not be a ...

I'll post you a link to that if I find it.

I sent them a copy of my passport photo page, and address proof (council tax bill). Along with these, I quoted my original WP reference number and also sent them a copy of it. All that was to ensure they process my individual case and not a name-sake. However impossible it may seem, there could have...

Hiya, Your Council tax depends on various factors, like your House Band, costs of policing your area and a couple of other factors as mentioned in the Council Tax bill. My CT bill always has a breakup of the factors contributing to it. It does NOT, however, depend on the number of occupants in the h...

Hiya, The signed and stamped bank statements are sufficient. Couple this with your employer's statement and you have a strong case. Just make sure all the numbers all up. About £3K should do.

Reference number for FLR? You receive a letter from the HO confirming application / funds receipt. That should bear your appln. ref. no. as well.

It is straightforward:

Country of legal residence: Switzerland. Hence you will be assessed based on the respective Band for Switzerland (and not India).

Country where job based: India.
Country of 1st secondment: Suisse.
